Company Description
Element Six is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Quality department at our Springs Site. This position will be reporting to the Site Quality Manager.
Job Description
- Act as a liaison between Operations, Quality department, Procurement, and Suppliers
- Drive supplier quality performance and ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements
- Develop and implement best practices with suppliers for new product development and product quality improvement
- Conduct supplier validation audits and APQP with supplier support
- Support new product launches to meet required quality standards
- Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions for supplier quality issues
- Evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain
- Assist Quality Manager in monitoring and reporting on supplier product quality and performance
- Support first off sample approvals and undertake special projects as required
- Produce written reports and make presentations on supplier quality performance
- Maintain supplier quality records and relationships with suppliers
- Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure compliance with quality specifications
- Develop and maintain incoming inspection and Quality assurance criteria
- Communicate inspection requirements with Quality team and maintain Supplier Quality Manual.
Qualifications
The following qualifications are required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or BTech in Quality, Mechanical, Industrial, Physics, or Metallurgy
- Desirable: ISO9001 or TS16949 Certificate (QMS and auditing)
- Advantageous: Six Sigma Green Belt qualification in problem solving with proven utilization
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a Quality engineering or QA/QC role, with at least 2 years focused on supplier quality
- Experience in dealing with customers and suppliers

- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to take the lead when required
- Logical thinking and the ability to make decisions based on technical facts
- Ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior management
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and statistical packages such as Minitab and GTD
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong decision-making skills, as well as planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work with measuring equipment.
