National Accreditation Board, Ghana
The Government of Ghana founded the National Accreditation Board in 1993 to accredit higher education institutions, both public and private, concerning the content and standards of their curricula.
- The agency of the Ghanaian government that is in charge of regulating, supervising, and accrediting Ghanaian tertiary institutions is known as the National Accreditation Board (NAB). It is a ministry-affiliated organization.
Establishment
The government’s 1991 white paper on reforms to Ghana’s tertiary education system spurred the formation of the board in 1993. According to the recommendation, the Board should be established to:
- Contribute to the improvement of tertiary education management and act as the authority responsible for ensuring its quality at that level.
